> Rabot Dutilleul Construction, winner of the Responsible Economy Trophy - 21 December 2009

Logo du Réseau AlliancesRabot Dutilleul Construction has been awarded the Responsible Economy Trophy by the Alliances network. Presented to Managing Director Régis Pettier, the trophy recognises the environmentally responsible efforts made by the business in producing a carbon balance sheet for one of its building sites, a key step in understanding the scale of its environmental footprint.

“Our focus is on raising awareness amongst everyone involved in the business and a carbon balance sheet is a good way of highlighting some of the realities and prompting people to take action, explains Julien Barcet, HEQ Engineer at RDC.
The carbon balance calculations carried out at a residential building site in Lille were used to pinpoint the sources of greenhouse gas emissions. This highlighted the fact that individual travel was the source of 37% of GHG emissions. As a result, Rabot Dutilleul Construction now makes regular use of site staff allocation software to reduce the distance travelled between home and work.
Another area in which the business has continued to make progress is waste recycling. Between January and June 2009, for example, the reclamation rate for all production-related waste at RDC sites increased from 34% to 58%.
“The results we have achieved are very encouraging but our aim is to go much further right, across the Group,” confirms Claude Lenglet, Scientific Director at Rabot Dutilleul. “Sustainable construction means thinking about buildings throughout their life cycle.”

> Rabot Dutilleul Construction acquires Demouy - 21 September 2009

In line with its geographic expansion strategy, Rabot Dutilleul Construction has bought a 55% stake in Demouy, a construction firm located in the Oise district of France. The firm will eventually be wholly owned by Rabot Dutilleul Construction.

Created in 1860, Demouy is a construction and public works company based in Clairoix, near Compiègne. Operating in the construction and building renovation sectors, Demouy also specialises in civil engineering work, particularly in high-risk environments. Widely recognised for its expertise, the company also has entrepreneurial values similar to those cultivated by the Rabot Dutilleul group.

With this acquisition, which follows the purchase of Stefco in the Paris area, Rabot Dutilleul Construction has expanded its reach in France. It now operates in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Ile-de-France, Champagne, Lorraine and now Picardie regions.

In France, Rabot Dutilleul’s construction division employs more than 1,000 people and will generate turnover of €300 million in 2009, representing 43% of the Group’s overall turnover.

> Rabot Dutilleul wins innovative PPP contract - 1st September 2009

The Group has won a two-part project in Douai consisting in creating a residential facility for elderly dependents (EHPAD) and developing the existing site.

As part of a public-private partnership (PPP) involving the financing, design and maintenance of a residential facility for elderly dependents (EHPAD) and the development of the existing property, Douai Hospital has just signed a partnership agreement with Crédit Agricole Leasing – more specifically, with its subsidiary Auxifip – for the winning project mainly being carried out by four companies belonging to the Rabot Dutilleul group.

Representing more than another success in the hospital sector, this project illustrates Rabot Dutilleul’s ability to provide a comprehensive solution as a turnkey integrator (Rabot Dutilleul Partnerships); builder (Rabot Dutilleul Construction); facilities manager (Sitex); and property developer (Nacarat).
