The Debarge&Bellaigue / Collectif Y / Rabot Dutilleul Construction consortium wins the 2017 PrintArch challenge

"Customised Housing" is the winning project of the 2017 PrintArch challenge in the "3D cement printing" category. This project is promoted by the Debarge & Bellaigue architecture and urban development workshop and Collectif Y, in partnership with Rabot Dutilleul Construction.

The PrintArch challenge provides concept proof by creating demonstrators and functional prototypes on a scale of 1. These help assess technological maturity, accelerate the digital transition through experiments with and integration of new technologies, and stimulate a joint innovation strategy based on interdisciplinary partnerships.

Thanks to this award, the Debarge-Bellaigue / Collectif Y / Rabot Dutilleul Construction consortium will develop a demonstrator on a scale of 1, in partnership with industrial companies. Cement mixtures made from cement/dirt or cement/clay will be the raw material for this 3D-printed affordable housing concept. The "Customised Housing" project targets two forms of innovation: social innovation by experimenting new types of housing, and technical innovation through the development of a large-scale technical 3D printing system.
